Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data I collect through withgovind.com (the “Site”), why I collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

I am Govind Singh, a freelance paid-media specialist based in New Delhi, India. I operate this Site as an individual, and I am the data controller for personal data collected through it. You can reach me at hello@withgovind.com.

This Site is a portfolio and enquiry site. There are no user accounts, no online payments, and nothing is sold directly through it.

What I collect

Information you give me. When you submit the contact form, I collect the name, email address, subject and message you enter. If you email or call me directly, I keep that correspondence. If you subscribe to updates, I collect your email address.

Information collected automatically. When you visit, standard technical data is collected: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location derived from IP (usually city or region level). This comes from analytics and hosting logs.

Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies, pixels and local storage are used for analytics and advertising measurement. Non-essential cookies only load after you consent. See the Cookie Policy for the full detail.

I do not collect payment card details, government identifiers, or special-category data such as health, biometric, religious or political information through this Site. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work — necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract.
  • To send updates you asked for — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To keep the Site secure and working — my legitimate interest in preventing abuse and diagnosing faults.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it — on the basis of your consent to analytics cookies.
  • To measure my own advertising — on the basis of your consent to marketing cookies.
  • To meet legal obligations where the law requires it.

I do not sell your personal data, and I do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.

Analytics and advertising tools

Tags on this Site are managed through Google Tag Manager. Depending on the consent you give, the following may run:

Analytics — Google Analytics 4, Matomo, Microsoft Clarity, Heap, Crazy Egg and Ahrefs Analytics. These measure traffic, page performance and on-page behaviour. Clarity and Crazy Egg record aggregated interaction data such as scrolling, clicks and heatmaps.

Advertising — Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, used to measure the performance of my own campaigns and to show relevant ads.

Some tag requests are routed through a server-side endpoint on the subdomain stape.withgovind.com before being forwarded to the relevant provider. This changes how the data is transmitted, not what is collected or who ultimately receives it.

Where Google tools are used, Google Consent Mode v2 is implemented, so the consent choices you make are passed to Google and its tags adjust accordingly.

Service providers

I share data only with providers that help me run the Site and my business:

  • Vercel — hosting and delivery of the Site.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and network security.
  • Resend — delivery of contact-form emails and any newsletter.
  • Google, Meta, Microsoft, Matomo, Heap, Crazy Egg and Ahrefs — analytics and advertising, as described above.
  • Zoho CRM and HubSpot — where I record client enquiries and manage ongoing client relationships.

Each processes data under its own terms. I may also disclose data where legally required, or to establish or defend legal claims.

International transfers

I am based in India, and several providers above are based in the United States or the European Union. Where data is transferred out of your country, that transfer relies on the provider’s safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries and correspondence — up to 3 years from our last contact, so I can pick up a conversation later.
  • Client project records — for the duration of the engagement plus 8 years, to meet Indian tax and accounting requirements.
  • Newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data — according to each provider’s retention settings, typically 14 months or less.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time.

If you are in the EU or UK, these rights come from the GDPR and UK GDPR, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority. If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you rights of access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal. If you are in California, you may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and must not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Note that I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA and CPRA.

Managing cookies and tracking

You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time using the cookie preferences control on this Site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, and opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Site working.

Security

I use HTTPS across the Site, restrict access to enquiry data to myself, and rely on established providers for hosting and email. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

This Site links to external sites, including client work and social profiles. I am not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies before sharing data with them.

Changes

I may update this policy as my tools or legal obligations change. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be flagged on the Site.
